Between the Lions: "When Two Vowels Go Walking"

This video is so upbeat that at the end of the song I found myself smiling and bouncing to the music. Once my students have learned the vowels which most of them should know from kindergarten, this would then be my next topic to go over with the class. The children will learn words that have a silent vowel while having fun listening to the song and seeing fun interactions. I showed my two 10 year old kids that I babysit this video and they were singing the song the whole night! That is when I knew that this video would be perfect for my 1st grade classroom.

  1. Amanda, I really like this video. This is perfect for 1st grade when teaching long vowels sounds. I am currently in the process of going over those with my six year old and this video is wonderful illustration to go over the combination of vowels for that age level

  2. Amanda, this is a great video. The combination of vowels can be confusing for a young student but it makes the information so clear for the students to understand and it's so cute at the same time! This is definitely something I would also use in the classroom!
